Off to Manly and a sail in Sydney Harbour!

After 10 glorious days on the Northern Beaches and a Teague family walk up to the Barrenjoey Lighthouse, all good things must come to an end and we left Careel Bay Marina at first light...

We headed out around Barrenjoey Heads and started heading south, bound for Rushcutters Bay again where we planned to spend New Years Eve.

And there it is...the unmistakable yellow Newport Surf Club on Newport Beach in the left of the pic and Bilgola Beach on the right.

And here we are on Google Maps, a little further down the coast just after I took the above photo...

As luck would have it, we were heading straight into a southerly wind so we motored again and came around Sydney Heads and into Manly Cove. There's the Manly Ferry cutting its way to Circular Quay!

And here's Gradiva's Captain Pete and his son Fergus at the helm.

We dropped anchor for an hour or so while Ayla and I sat on the beach and Pete got a coffee.

And finally the wind was in our favour so we put some sails up and sailed into Sydney Harbour!

Such a beautiful city and one happy Pete!

We sailed right up to the bridge and Pete even flew the French flag - just for Marc Arav - the previous owner. This is for you Marc!!!
